Here’s the truth about hypnosis for weight loss. It isn’t like smoking cessation. where a person can put down a cigarette and never smoke again. With anything having to do with eating, you have at least a few opportunities in a day to either get it right or wrong. Weight loss is somewhat complex in nature. It’s linked to our habits, emotions, confidence or in many cases lack thereof and how we deal with stress. There’s also a biological component where a part of Our primitive hardwiring is keen on taking every opportunity to eat just in case food isn’t available any time soon. It also doesn’t help that junk food, particularly sugar, can have the same addictive qualities as drugs, on our brains. Junk food can be addictive.
There are also external forces at work as well. From the moment you get up, you see and hear restaurant advertisements compelling you to buy unhealthy food. We are so use to it and we are so use to giving into it that we don’t even think twice about it. For all of these reasons, Weight loss really is a process. Have in mind at least a certain number of sessions because it takes reinforcement to learn a new lifestyle pattern. Our goal is to make it to where it becomes normal to make healthy food choices in the right portions. If you are coming in for in-office or phone sessions, have in mind at least a few and even after that, From time to time, be sure to drop in just to reinforce. Each time you come in, either I or one of my colleagues will make you a copy of the session so that you can hypnotize yourself at home before going to bed. Doing this gives you that much needed reinforcement and it saves you money. If you take a night off, it’s no big deal. In general though, you want to be committed though. It’s our most committed clients that have had the best results.
