What does a hypnosis session feel like? It really depends on who you ask.
I’ve heard many clients refer to hypnosis as a mental massage. For some people, it’s so blissfully relaxing that their body just lets go. They might feel their body become heavy and they may not be able to lift up their hands or move. For others, yeah, it’s very relaxing but if they wanted to move, they could, they just don’t feel like it.
From time to time, I’ll have somebody mention that they felt little tingles in their body or even at the front of their head. Some people might feel as though their floating. I’ve had it happen where a person asks me, “Wow, so you were rocking the chair the whole time?” And I explain, no, I’ve been sitting here at my desk the whole time.
People who take in the world through their auditory senses have mentioned that my voice sounded as though at one point it was far away at the end of a hallway and next thing you know right close to them. Another said, he felt as though the sound of my voice was bouncing of the wall.
However you experience your hypnosis session, you will find that hypnosis in a therapeutic form is a safe, natural and soothing experience. In fact, I’ve had clients tell me that when I announced that I was going to bring them out, they thought, “No…. not yet.”
You are always told everything that is going on and the process is explained as we go so that that you can totally let go, relax and allow your mind to really absorb the suggestions. After the session, you might feel sleepy for a bit or you might feel a little as though you’re still semi-hypnotized just because your brain’s wavelengths haven’t come back up. Some people even experience of euphoria with them feeling super positive. However you experience it, that’s it’s good.
After you’ve been hypnotized the first time, you’ll notice that it’s even faster and easier to go in because the moment we start, your mind thinks, “Oh yeah, I see where’s she’s going with this.” and just goes with it.
Not only is hypnosis in the form of hypnotherapy a very relaxing experience but it’s also an empowering one as you start seeing the changes take place. There’s nothing like knowing that you are taking control of your life and that you are doing it on your terms.
