Fear: Is playing it safe holding you back?
Too many times people don’t get important things done because they are too busy playing it safe. The problem is that playing it safe is never rewarding. It just keeps you in a state of homeostasis, where everything stays the same. That’s the worst thing you could possibly do because if you are not growing then you’re just stagnant. That’s like trapped water that can’t get out. What happens? It ends up getting yucky. That to me is even riskier because it sets you up for feeling totally unfulfilled and negative about yourself. The only way to grow is to step out of your comfort zone. You have to venture out try new things, meet new people and have new experiences. I suggest that you get comfortable with the idea of being a little uncomfortable from time to time and have the mindset that that feeling only ever lasts for so long. It’s just one moment in space and time that lasts for just a bit and then it’s gone. Once you’ve pushed past it, you’ll notice that not only are you rewarded with positive feelings about yourself but it also takes you up a notch in your growth. It’s kind of ironic huh. Many times, the things that you fear the most are the things that are going to help you to grow the most. Once again, I’ll repeat that for you: Many times, the things that you fear the most are the things that are going to help you grow the most.
Now that I’ve conveyed this very empowering way of thinking, I want you to think about what you are to do for the purpose of stepping outside your comfort zone. It’s important that you not just hear what I’ve said but actually implement it. It’s time to do whatever it is. Make it happen. There’s no better time than now.
