You know that voice — the one in your head that says, “I can’t, because…”
Maybe it talks us out of working out, or into one more cigarette, or holds us back from being successful at work.
That voice, that excuse, is natural — it’s the mind’s automatic defense against anything that might challenge us, or make us feel nervous or afraid.
It’s okay — healthy, even — to hear those excuses, and recognize them for what they are. What we must not do, however, is believe them.
