Sometimes, we get so use to thinking the same stuff over and over that we stop to even question what we might be doing to ourselves. So for example, if you are constantly bashing yourself with negative self-talk or are constantly reliving the anger and hurt from some traumatic event, on some level, it’s like you are poisoning yourself. I’m not even being dramatic. I’ve seen what constant negativity can do to a person. It can wreak havoc on both your body and mind. And the worst thing of all is that it’s you doing it to yourself.
That’s why it’s important to take inventory of your thoughts and assess what you are doing to yourself. Thanks to covid, we all have much more time on our hands. Put it to some positive use by beginning to question your mental habits and become aware of what needs to shift.
That’s the first step in taking control.
